COULD'VE BEEN A WESTERN WEDNESDAY!

This is "Willis" and he has done this everyday since he has been here. As soon as I walk off after putting on his halter he starts pawing at his bucket.

And EVERY TIME this happens! You would think he would have learned that this happens every time he paws! He then looks at me with this look like "I did it again, can you help me please?!" It could be a truly western Wednesday post if he went to freaking out, but he just stands there and waits for me to come and rescue him! And I once again get him out of this predicament for another day! I am beginning to wonder if he is doing it to get extra attention! LOL! Have a great Wednesday!

What a silly Willis! Bet you are right- bet he is just fishing for some extra attention there, Mom!

Glad to see your mare is doing so much better to. That had to scare the dickens out of you....

What a silly horse. Good thing he seems to have an abundance of common sense(at least about the rope-LOL).

Whatta good Willis for not freaking out for sure. My sister's mare will paw a new pond if she's tied and you are not physically touching her. She finally got a mat for our grooming area, but she still paws at it. I guess she has done it since she was very young. I think it's almost more of a nervous energy habit, rather than impatience. Like me biting my nails! ;)

Wow! It is amazing that he doesn't freak! I have some that would and some that would just stand there too waiting to be rescued. Glad Angel is doing better. Will be interested to hear how the concoction works. How fun to have a little helper all day. T loves to be in the barn helping me when she isn't in school too. She even likes mucking stalls! I hope that continues! lol!

Hey Kris! Here an Oklahoma solution for your pawing horse, move the bucket! Mickey rubbed his head on his and messed up his halter, I gave up and moved the bucket to another place. No more messed up halters for me, no more heart failure for you. That swelling looks awful, let me know how the mixture works for you.
I'd bet it does her some good.
Hope you have a happy Mother's Day. If you see Frances give her a hug for me. Did those boxes make it to you?
Have a great day. Becca

It, good that he doesn't get scared. But I would probably tie him to the top rail, and tie him a little shorter- just for the sake of safety.

Tooo funny. Some horses are just like that. They cannot help themselves, I swear.... they try a person's patience :)

Tie him to the top rail and tie him tighter - then he shouldn't be able to get his leg around the lead rope like than - humbly submitted.
