HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HONEY!!!

Happy Anniversary Honey!! We will be married 6 years tomorrow. We have diffently grown in our marriage for the better over the years. I know we have had our share of hard times, but we both are committed to our marriage and constantly working to better it. I can say God blessed me with a great Christian husband. I have just got through reading a awesome book called Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. I would recommend it for every married couple. I know I have learned allot and the most important thing is to let my husband know I respect him. I have always told him I loved him, but God wants us to respect our husbands as well. "I say each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." Ephesians 5:33. So here is my list of some of the reasons I respect my husband: provider, protector, loving, Daddy, caring, christian, husband, friend, encourager. I am currently starting a study on Proverbs 31-a wife of noble character. I did the same study before we had children, I want to go back and restudy the verses again. I want to "bring my husband good, not harm, all the days of her life.." Proverbs 31:12, "she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instruction with kindness.." Proverbs 31:26. I want to be the best Christian wife and mother that I possibly can. I know that I can not do that without God, but with Him, all things are possible. Thank you Lord for my marriage!!

Women's Ranch Rodeo 6/9/07

ROPING THE CALVES!

Here are some pictures from our Women's Ranch Rodeo at Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Tyler, Texas. The events were sorting, branding, doctoring and untagging. We did a great job and had a good time. It was alittle humid and hot, but we all survived with water and Powerade. My team had some bad luck, in the sorting one of our team members got bucked off her horse and the doctoring and untagging we had hard luck as well. But, for me personally it was a good learning experience and me and my horse worked very well together. I have only been roping about 6 months and me and her are starting to mesh and work well together. It is a great feeling and it makes you and your horse trust each other. I know that when I ride that is when I feel so very close to our Lord and Savior. It is such a awesome feeling to be on your horse and feeling the wind and hearing there hooves as they are running. It is the closest thing to flying for me. I guess it is hard to explain and understand if you are not a horse person. I do love our horses and cherish my time with them. You know most young girls go through the horse crazy stage, well I did not have horses when I was little. I am "horse crazy" now and loving it!!! I do not see me outgrowing this stage in my life anytime soon!!! I am looking forward to continuing my journey with learning to rope, better myself as a rider and just plain enjoy God's creatures. I want to thank my husband for giving me such a awesome horse, encouragement, and too many other things to mention. And Mary for always encouraging me, pushing me and just being there. Thanks to Barb, Cindy, Laura and Michael for making the trip up and sharing this day with me. It meant so much to me that you all came. Thank you God for all you give me!

Our Hermit Crabs!!

Savannah feeding "Stripes" a grape.
"Super Girl" drinking water
"Blue's Clues" is getting into there house, "Stripes" drinking water and "Super Girl" digging!

Well, I figured I better post our newest animals on the farm. Several people have been asking for me to and I was waiting to get a few pictures. We have 3 hermit crabs. It all started when we went to my sister's for a visit and they had a crab. She was so interested in them and wanted to get one. So when we got home we went and got one crab. Of course, I have never owned crabs before and did not know a thing about them, so I went on the Internet and started researching crabs. And you know they are not hermits, they like being together and the website I was on said you should have 2 or more together. That they live longer and just do better. So back to the store we went and got 2 more. Our first crab is named "Blue's Clues" and is in a normal shell. The next 2 we got have fancy painted shells! They are "Stripes" (his shell is black with yellow stripes) and "Super Girl" (her shell is pink Spiderman). Now we do not know if they are male and females, Savannah says that "Super Girl" is a girl and the others are boys! Anyway they are neat to have and they will eat bananas, apples, grapes, squash, along with there normall pellet food. I normally cut a piece and put on the end of a fork, so Savannah can feed them and not get pinched! We have been handling them alot and they are getting used to us and come out for there special treat. This afternoon I was cleaning out the aquarium and put them in a box for exercise and just happened to have my camera in the same room. "Super Girl" has been shy about coming out around us and today she came out and was walking around investigating her surroundings. It was a real treat, the boys have always been very adventurous. It has been a blessing to get to know these creatures that God has made. Savannah has really enjoyed learning about them and having hands on experience. I know I have as well. My husband says I am a kid at heart, I guess I am. We did not have anything like this when I was little and I enjoy sharing this with my daughter. Anyway hope you enjoy our latest critters!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "PREACHER"

Happy Birthday "Preacher!!!" Today is his 7th birthday! So today Savannah has claimed to be his special day, treats, extra grooming and lovings!!! We got him about 2 years ago and his name was "Toad." Of course we changed the name, I could not see calling him "Toad" That name did not fit him, so my husband came up with "Preacher". Anyway he was going to be a project for my husband and sale after he was finished. But we feel in love with him right away and he stayed! A few days after we got him me and Savannah were going to feed and he was following us to the barn and Savannah feel down right in front of him, he stopped and waited for her to get up and made sure she was okay. That was what really won his place here. He has to continued to be that way. He meets me at the gate and walks right behind me or next to me to the barn. But, if I stop, he stops, it is so neat. He is a great natured, loving horse. He loves his lovings and would get into your lap if he could. My son rides him at his ranch rodeos and my husband loves him for sorting!! So he made his way into our lives and hearts and it has been a blessing. Too many more!! We love you "Preacher!!!"
