Graduation

Savannah receiving her diploma from her teacher!

Well, I made it through Kindergarten graduation! It was Friday morning and they gave awards and then walked across the stage to get there diploma! I did cry, It was emotional to see her class and especially her. After they received there diplomas all 4 K classes went up on stage and did a few songs. She got a award for explemary behavior for the year. That diffidently makes us proud! After the ceremony we stopped by her class room and picked up a packet and had our goodbyes. Of course I start crying again, man I have gotten attached to the kids in her class as well, not to mention her teacher. We were blessed with a awesome teacher! Thanks Kim for putting your heart into teaching, may God Bless you and your family! Way to go Savannah we are so very proud of you and love you bunches! And now I can say I have a 1st grader! What happened? It seems like I just had her yesterday! LOL! This banner was was hanging on the stage and it said class of 2020! Oh my! They had it in the hallway for each of the kids to sign. Her teacher has them bring a piece of fabric and they make a quilt to hang on the wall with there class picture. She has been teaching 15 years and has each and everyone hanging in her room. I think that is real special for her to do that. She says kids always come back to see there quilts and pics!

Trip to Equine Chircopractor

WAITING OUR TURN! Roo looks really worried about seeing the Dr.! When we first got there we were letting them graze alittle, while we were waiting for the Dr. But after about 20 minutes we all decided to go and wait out of the sun in the barn! Whew it was hot! So I guess he was taking alittle nap! LOL!
This afternoon me and the little cowgirl hauled with Mary to take Roo and one of her horses to meet the Equine Chiropractor. We took Roo in about 6 months or so ago and man did it make a difference. Hubby told me last week when he was working cows he needed to go again. He was not wanting to pull. This was the second time we had been to a equine chiropractor. Let me just say this, this man is awesome! Little cowgirl took the camera so she could get pics, so I have included a few of them. I think he was alittle concerned of all the pictures she took of our backsides! LOL! We were talking afterwards and he was just laughing about it! He said I could just hear her clicking the camera and then laughing! LOL! This has really been a learning experience for me. He is really good and does a through exam prior to starting the adjustments. He also gives them alittle sedative to help them relax and puts blinders on them. The first time when he pulled out his mallets I thought Oh my goodness, that is going to hurt!! But it doesn't, there is such a difference when he is done than before. Just like with us some horses need to have adjustments from time to time. It is not a scheduled thing, we just go by how he is doing. This time Roo was needing a adjustment in his hips, ribs, back and neck. It has diffidently been a neat experience for us and little cowgirl was excited she got to got this time and watch! If you ever need one I can say I would highly recommend ours! Thanks so much Dr. Le Wayne!!
Roo styling his blinders! Savannah said I have to get a picture of this! It was just alittle warm today, if you can not tell from the sweat soaked shirts and our red faces! LOL! **And as I am typing this it has started raining!**

Working on his ribs. And no picture taking would be complete without a self portrait! When I was downloading the pics I found several of these and a very nice closeup of some hay!

Water and little cowgirls!!

Yesterday we got the little cowgirl a small pool. She just loves the water!! I guess I am a mean mom, because I will not get a bigger pool. But like I have time for the upkeep and maintenance! With this one you fill with water, if it gets dirty dump water and fill back up! No chemicals! And of course it can be the water hole for the dog as well! Because no matter how hard you try to keep them out they are going to get in! She had a great time yesterday after I got it blown up and water in it! I was watching her play last night in it and I said I wonder if I walked the horse through it would it rip the liner? She looked at me and said this is my pool, you buy Angel her own!! LOL! It does resemble what a water box looks like in a extreme race. We have not actually done a water box obstacle, but there is going to be water at the big race I have coming up in July. I figure it will be something like a water box as they are doing it in the arena. Speaking of boxes, I am going to get on my soap box for a minute! This year she outgrew the swimsuit she had been wearing the last couple of years. So we head off to Walmart to get her a new one. Well, 45 minutes and about 12 bathing suits later I finally found one! Needless to say, I was shocked to see the suits they had for little girls! She picked up several she liked and then would turn the back to me and there was not one, it was cut down to there cracks. And the bikinis, there is nothing to them! UGH! Even the ones we thought looked okay on the hanger, when she would put them on they were cut down to there cleavage in the front. What the heck, they don't even have any! One really cute bathing suit has cut so high up on here hips, half your bottom was hanging out! What in the world were they thinking when they made these suits for little girls? Clothes the same way, when I started shopping in the girls section I was shocked! The jeans are very low cut, short skirts (no built in shorts underneath!) and the tops are cut to hit right at there waist! That bugs her as she can not tuck them in! What do you think? I have a problem with it, but unlike others I will cave into peer pressure and buy that stuff for her! So many moms I have talked with around here say that since everyone else is doing it, it is okay. It is the times! What the heck? I even had one mom to go so far and tell me I was hindering her as I would not let her wear and do some of the things her friends do. I say again What the heck? My child is no different for me not letting her wear or do certain things! That is crazy! She does not even ask and she knows that is not something she should be wearing, nor does she want to. I feel that they are wanting our little girls to grow up way too fast! Or am I just old fashioned? END RANT!! Anyway here are some pics from yesterday. Hope you all are having a great weekend, I am so looking forward to the summer with my little cowgirl!
UM, Excuse me horsey mom, did you forget something!?!?!?! They were all hanging out right by the fence, but these 2 nosey ones was really watching her and what we were doing! I have been feeding them later in the evenings since it has been so hot, but they are reminding me (like I would forget!) that they haven't been feed this evening yet!
Shelby looking at me like Can I get in? Sure you can so off she goes into the water! She was enjoying herself and then stopped and rested her head on the side of the pool and look what happened! Savannah say a opportunity and used her like a bridge! She would swim underneath her and back over and over! You see the look on Shelby's face?! I think she is saying, Look at the things I do for this little one! LOL!

UPDATE ON ROEANN

Here is a update on my good friend RoeAnn that was in the horse accident on Mother's Day. She had surgery Thursday afternoon and doctors say she should make a 100% recovery. We went up and saw her yesterday after church. She looks good for what she has gone through! They are thinking about letting her go home on Wednesday. She has to be eating solid foods and able to get to the bathroom first. When she gets home she will be bedridden for 6 weeks, only up to potty and then back down, they do not want her to put alot of pressure on her pelvis yet. She said yesterday the doctor told her it would be at least 6-8 months before she could even think about getting on a horse. I am just thankful she is going to be alright. It could have been alot worse, that is definitely scary when a horse comes over on a rider. Please continue to remember her in your prayers as she still has a long road ahead of her. To a speedy recovery!

RODEO, PLAYDAYS AND ROPING!

It has been busy around here the last couple of days! Saturday night I had a rodeo in Diana. The events were pony express, flag race, branding and team penning. We placed 4th, would have done better but had a bad draw on cow in penning. She was sour and didn't want to go! We had lots of fun!

Sunday was our church play day. The events were barrels, obstacle course and rescue race. I did all the events and hubby took pictures and helped time and Savannah played with her friends. On the rescue race your partner is standing on the ground at the other end of the pen, you run down there and pick them up and come back, it is a timed event. I did it with my friend (another need for speed freak!) and we got it done in 14 seconds!! There was a damper in the afternoon when one of our good friends horse reared up with them and landed on top of her. She is having surgery Thursday morning for multiple breaks in her pelvis. They are having a hard time helping her with the pain, as everything makes her sick. Please remember her and her family in your prayers. To a speedy recovery girl, we love ya!

Monday afternoon we had friends over and roped. It was a great day and lots of fun! I actually got to join in the fun! And got pointers from a friend, Thanks so much! I got a few pics of us roping-and then looked down and the memory card was full! UGH! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

ONE OF MY FAVS!

I just love this cart! It has come in handy for so many uses! Today I used it to haul a piece of rubber matting up to the house. I have used it for feed, hay, sticks, you name it. Hubby brought it home for me one day last year when he was day working. One of the guys he was working with had a pile of stuff sitting in the trash pile and he asked about it. I am so glad he did as I use it all the time! Thanks honey! **And as you can see I have 2 very excited passengers!**

This is called being too lazy to saddle!! It has been a crazy day and I had not been able to ride and only had a short block of time, so off we went. Why waste time saddling!?!? She seems to be doing good, she is flexing well and does not seem to be in pain. I have been using the DSMO/Bigelol mixture for 3 days now and she does not seem to mind it at all. I need to take a picture of her when I am massaging the area with the tennis ball! Her face says it all!! I have not seen alot of change in the size of the scar tissue, but I figure it will take alittle while to see any. It is worth a shot to help her heal and hopefully with minimal scarring!

COULD'VE BEEN A WESTERN WEDNESDAY!

This is "Willis" and he has done this everyday since he has been here. As soon as I walk off after putting on his halter he starts pawing at his bucket.

And EVERY TIME this happens! You would think he would have learned that this happens every time he paws! He then looks at me with this look like "I did it again, can you help me please?!" It could be a truly western Wednesday post if he went to freaking out, but he just stands there and waits for me to come and rescue him! And I once again get him out of this predicament for another day! I am beginning to wonder if he is doing it to get extra attention! LOL! Have a great Wednesday!

Last couple of days...........

My little helper!!

"What about me?!?!" Someone is in my spot!
You can see the scar tissue on the left side of her neck-just above the reins.

The last couple of days have been busy, like always. Friday afternoon we went down to our arena and picked blackberries. We got 5 gallon size bags full! Saturday we worked in the yard and then went to eat at cousin's house. Sunday was church and the first Sunday we went to 2 services. It was a long day. Hubby started nights, so when he left me and Savannah went back to the arena to pick more berries. She soon got bored and wanted to go to the pond with Shelby. So off child and dog went and it was a few minutes and I heard splashing and Savannah laughing. I went running over to find Shelby doing laps in the pond!! She said look what I made her do! LOL! (still wishing I had gotten camera out of truck!) I got the DMSO & Bigeloil and made the spray for Angel. Used it this afternoon before I rode, she said I should notice results in a couple of days. We just took a short ride and she was moving well, she was not sore this evening when I feed. I will let you know how the concoction works! Savannah was here all day as they were out of school for a bad weather day they did not use this year. She was my little helper today and we had alot of fun.

Shelby just does not like these! And they will follow her up and down the fence! Our neighbors just recently got them! Horses could careless, but the dog has issues!

UPDATE ON ANGEL

I tried to drain her on Monday and couldn't get anything out. I called the vet and he said we have gotten all of it out. What is left is scar tissue and it could take anywhere from 3-12 months for it to go away. He said the best thing to do is cold/warm compresses once to twice daily and massage the area to help it absorb and break down faster. I can start riding her slowly and give her Bute if needed. I have been flexing her the last couple of days and she seems to be doing fine. So I have started riding her in small intervals a couple times a day. Just bareback walking around and flexing, circles, just basic things to get her back into moving again. Next week I am going to start saddling her and working her alittle harder. Keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks for all your thoughts and concerns with my girl! I really appreciated it and it meant alot to me!! Have a great Thursday!!
