HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY SAVANNAH!!!!

Happy 5Th birthday Savannah! I can not believe my baby girl turned 5! It does not seem like she should be that old! This year we shared a family day together and it was great! We had dinner with a dear friend and mother/daughter supper. We ended the evening making cupcakes for her class tomorrow to celebrated her birthday and a piece of Oreo Blizzard cake form Dairy Queen. Our neighbors have adopted Savannah as there granddaughter and gave her the cake for her special day. We have such great friends and family. "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." (Psalm 127:3) I know my life has changed since the day she came into my life. Me and my husband had been saved in our younger years and had strayed from church. But when I was pregnant with her the Holy Spirit went to work in our lives and we started going to church again. We are very involved in our church and are raising our children in a godly centered home. I know I personally pray for each of our children to have a growing walk with the Lord. Savannah is only 5 and is asking alot of questions about how to be saved, that is such a great feeling to hear your child talk about our Lord and Savior!! Praise the Lord! "Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life or your young children." Lamentations 2:19. I know today's world is such a scary place and I know I personally would not make it through motherhood with out my Lord and Savior. I know I thank my heavenly Father for His help in my home. And thank him daily for helping me and blessing me with this incredible journey of motherhood.

Newest babies on the ranch

FIRST OUTING WITH THE BABIES!!
LOOK CLOSELY IN THE PEAR TREE FOR SAVANNAH -SHE WAS TRYING TO GET A CLOSER LOOK!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE-SHE IS VERY CURIOUS!
THIS IS THE ROOSTER

I wanted to share pics of the new babies on the ranch. About a month ago my hens hatched out 7 baby chickens. Today when we were outside they brought them out of the coop for the first time. They wondered about the yard with them. It took several tries to get good pics of them, the hens are very protective! I loved watching them, seeing the little ones wondering, experiencing new things. Savannah has really enjoyed having the chickens, and this is the first time we have had them set and hatch babies. She is already wanting to name them!! All of our chickens we raised from babies, even the rooster.

Savannah's Spring Program

APPLE ANNIE SONG
THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE-THEY HAD FLASHLIGHTS AND THE LIGHTS WERE TURNED LOW! (looked better in person!!!!)

Savannah's spring program was today at school. They did several songs and she had a solo and a memory verse. Her memory verse was "A friend loves at all times" Proverbs 17:17. She did a great job and I am very proud of her. She has really enjoyed going to Central Baptist Church School and has learned allot in a Christian loving atmosphere. Her memory verse is a great reminder to us all that we should love our friends at all times. And she and I both have made some great new friends during this season in her life. I will miss seeing them next year, as she will be starting Kindergarten!

Audrey Owens Benefit Ranch Rodeo 4/22/07

OPENING PRAYER

THE MUGGING EVENT-SHANNON ROPING THE COW, DICKIE READY TO SWING IF HE MISSES, MIKE HAZING THE COW! SAVANNAH, DEMI AND MICHAEL

On Sunday April 22nd Dickie was in the Audrey Owens Memorial Ranch Rodeo in Mixon, Texas. The proceeds from the rodeo go to the Audry Owens Memorial Agricultural Scholarship Fund. This year they were able to award five scholarships to students. Now let me get down to happenings that day! Dickie was real excited about getting to participate this year in the rodeo, in years past they have always scheduled on the weekend he is working. His team mates were Shannon West, Mike Morrow, Charles Lee Ashby. They did well in each event and worked good together, had some tough luck in the sorting. The last event Wild Cow Milking-this are "wet" cows! And of course my camera battery went dead and I have no pics!! Well anyway, Shannon roped the cow and off Dickie goes to the head and right before he grabbed her head, she head butted him in the right side. They finished the event and got a time, I went to check on him and he was hurting from the hit. Well, we left and came home and feed, ate, etc. When he went to lay down in bed, he was in allot of pain! So long story short, we spent Sunday evening in the emergency room! After it was all over he has 1 broken rib and several dislocated!!! I was very worried it was something major, he has such a high tolerance for pain. My prayers were answered! And oh by the way, it was my birthday!!! He feels really bad about spending my birthday night in the ER, but you know what I had a great day with my family/friends at church and at the rodeo. What more can you ask for??

Savannah's first visit from the tooth fairy!

Savannah lost her first tooth!! It has been loose for a week or so, but she would not let anyone pull it. The last couple of days it was so bad that the tooth was just hanging on by a thread. She lost it yesterday and put it under her pillow last night. She was so excited about the tooth fairy coming, that she woke up at 2:30 a.m. to see what she got! She got $3 dollars! I remember when I was little it was a quarter, inflation I guess!! Anyway, she is fascinated with the hole and waiting for her "big girl" tooth to come in.

Savannah meets a celeb!

His stick was a nice little buckskin!
Savannah and Adriano!

We had a Ranch Rodeo at church on Saturday and Adriano Moraes came and rode in it. He is a 3 X PBR Champion Bull Rider. Savannah asked me to take her picture with him. I did not want to at first, because you know he is asked that all the time. But I finally asked him and he said no problem. We took the picture and he talked with her for a few minutes. He was very nice and sweet with her, but he was that way with everyone that day. It was great to see someone like him, be so receptive to everyone and there questions. He did say he is no better than you or I. I think that is a great attitude to have. A good friend of ours said he is strong in his faith and brings that to the rodeos and other riders. I went to his web page and was reading more about him, he lives by the motto: Work, Faith and Humbleness. You can read more about him at http://www.adrianomoraes.com/.
Back to what he said, he is no better than you or I. He could have been a snob and turned people away, instead he welcomed everyone and treated everyone equally. What a great thing. I think it is human nature to get lost in being better than others and tearing each other down. Instead we need to be there for each other and support each other. The devil is always looking for ways to put wedges in between believers and tear us down. I know it is a struggle for me that I deal with regularly. One scripture that keeps coming to mind is : "Let us think of ways to spur one another in acts of love and good works." Hebrews 10:24.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "PESKIE"

Happy 25th Birthday "Peskie!!!" The Old Man (aka "Peskie") turned 25 years old today! He is Savannah's horse and her best buddy. To say the least she is horse crazy!! But she comes by it honest as I am too! He used to be Dickie's old roping horse and he retired him a few years ago and gave him to her. Savannah has been using him for her ranch rodeos where she competes in barrels, penning and our church play days. They get along so well and he takes good care of her. She has been riding him her whole life. He is beginning to slow down some and show his age, but I believe he still has a lot of years to go. As my husband says, they (the horses) are treated like royalty around here! He is a extraordinary horse and we have been blessed to have him for her. He is one of a kind. Thank you God for him and allowing him to be a part of our lives. "Peskie" to many more birthdays!
We love you bunches!

I am a Aunt again!!!

Jeremiah Charles Jordan
Born at 3:43am on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2007
9lbs 5oz
21 1/2" long
The name “Jeremiah” means “whom Jehovah appoints.”

My sister called Sunday morning before we left for church with the news. They were at the hospital and had a healthy, beautiful baby boy. That made my day, what joy God gives us with children. And of course I was a Aunt again for the 6th time!!!!! They now have there own baseball team! They have 4 boys and 2 girls. They are (oldest to youngest): Nehemiah, Mordecai, Hadassah, Deborah, Barnabas and now Jeremiah. I do wish they did live closer, so we could visit and raise our children together. They live in Duluth, GA. They are great Christian parents and I am honored to call them my sister and brother in law. Anyway, just wanted to brag on the newest addition to the family!
