Just a thought........

I have had several people ask me what am I doing with all my free time since Savannah is in school? Free time what is that?? I know I am busier now than when she was with me at home. I am trying to get everything done before I have to pick her up. I have my normal things I do during the week and than anything else that gets added to it. Today was grooming day, or as my husband calls it spa day for the horses! I took her to school and than came home and got to work on the horses. They get the royal treatment-clipping there face hair, braiding there manes and tails, brushing down, cleaning there hooves, fly sprayed. They get braided 3 times a week and a bath once a week. Then I am also riding them during the week, along with all the house work, whew! I know I am tired with her being in school! I hardly sit down to eat dinner! My goal is to have all my things done before I pick her up in the afternoon. So I can spend some quality time with her. Of course she helps every evening fixing supper, that is a bonding time for us. I still remember the times in the kitchen with my mom! I also want to organize/declutter all the rooms of the house while she is in school. We seem to have accumulated a lot of stuff and it is time to sort through it! Well, better get off and get back to it here! Tomorrow is busy as the farrier is coming out first thing in the morning. Savannah has her 2nd rodeo on Saturday and we have church and a play day on Sunday. A busy weekend lays ahead. I will get pics posted from her rodeo next week. I was wondering what do you do with your free time?? (or what do you do that you enjoy?) I know for me it is riding my horse, that is so relaxing and so close to God. A great time to reflect and enjoy God's beautiful creatures and the outdoors!

Like life just stops because the kids are in school now and there's just nothing to do. What's up with that? If anything - some days are busier than when they are home because we do try to get more done.

Sounds like a fun spa day and weekend. Have a good one!

Will you come give me a spa day????!!!!lol!! I really could use it I have been working outside in my gardens all day and am a mess. I sewed all day yesterday trying to get caught up on my tote bag orders and the November craft show and came out at 4 to feed the horses and one of them was next door at my FIL's house on the lawn munching grass! We are having some work done out back so they fenced off part of the pasture to get through to the project and Nick decided to jump out!!! He looked so pretty standing there with his ears perked right up I just couldn't be mad at him but did have my yard man put some electric fence along the top of the other fence today. No more going visiting for him!

There are never enough hours in the day as far as I am concerned. Sometimes I spend too much time on the computer but that is usually at night after chores and all is done.

I have one pony that won't let me clip him. AT ALL! He was abused before we got him so he has issues that we have to deal with. He's doing soooooooooo much better since he came here and is loved and taken care or and spoiled but some things he just can't tolerate and clipping is one of them. One spring when the vet was here for spring shots he tranquilized him and clipped him for me but I just can't justify doing that. I felt quilty having it done just that once. So I use scissors to do a little trimming like his bridle path and around his feet and that's about it.

Have a good weekend!! xoxo

When I do get some free time, I check in with my blogging buddies! Some days things go undone just to check in on everyone but I am a much happier person because of it.

Free time?!? LOL!! I am with you on this one - I don't have much!!
And like you, I prefer being around horses or out doing something fun outdoors if I do have free time. :)
I don't think a lot of people realize how much work it really is to take care of horses - especially when you have several of them. But it really isn't work...I find the greatest happiness when I am around horses. :)

Hi! Found a link to your blog over at Midlife Mom's. My sons just moved back to Texas and all my friends here asked me what I would do with my free time now that I don't have five horses to clean up after and give them a spa day...etc., etc., etc! I will channel all my energies into our home business and get myself ready to move back to Texas in a year!!! Boy, do I miss the horses, the dogs and my sons, they have only been gone a week and life is just not the same...

I miss being able to saddle up my horse and just go but I do enjoy being back in town. In my free time I love to just watch a movie and relax. I should start my scrapbooks again but just don't have the energy right now.
