Jordan Family visits!

Me and my sister and her 2 youngest kids Barnabas and Jeremiah!
My sister and her family came in from GA on Thursday and left on Sunday after church. We stayed out at my Dad's lake house and just had a blast! There were 7 kids and 4 adults! They all got along great! The kids played, took boat rides, golf cart rides, rode scooters, played with Shelby and just had fun. On Saturday we came out to our house and everyone rode the horses! They all did a great job! Nehemiah there oldest really took to riding and roping. He told Dickie he wanted to take a horse home! I even got my sister on a horse! She was alittle nervous at first, but got the hang of it! Savannah & Hadassah found a snake in the barn, so we stopped riding to kill the snake. When Dickie pulled it out of the barn, they all had to see! Then one of the boys asked what the inside of the snakes stomach looks like! So without hesitation Dickie cut open the snake and we had a science lesson right there in the pasture! Needless to say I think we probably won the coolest aunt and uncle award! LOL! We are really glad they got to come out and ride and take in the country life! On Sunday they visited our church, and left for GA right after. We had a great time and made lots of memories!! Here are some pictures from our weekend. I hope to get caught up on each of you over the next few days!

Being silly! The "girls" Hadassah, Savannah, Deborah and Shelby!
Shelby had a great time and was just as tired as the kids! They played K-9 hide and seek with her and just loved it! They loved to play fetch with her and see what she could jump!

Savannah, Nehemiah, Dickie My sister on a horse, along with Nehemiah and Hadassah! Great job sis!
The snake! Group picutre after church!

WESTERN WEDNESDAY

This picture was taken of us team sorting about 3 years ago! I was trying to find another picture, but couldn't find it! So I came across this one and thought why not! We do not have very many pictures of us riding together. I am riding my mare "Angel" and he is riding "Preacher!" Team Sorting is a blast, if you have never tried it I would recommend it! I hope you all have a great and blessed Wednesday!

EXTREME RACE

Okay since Mikey asked I guess I will go ahead and post pics from the Extreme Race today. We could not get pics of some of the obstacles, the way the course was set up. It was at a cowboy church in our area. I ran a 7.21 and hubby ran around a 8, but do not know where we placed. We left before it was over so I will know later our placings. They had you carry a rain slicker and put on a designated spot, Texas 2-step, mailbox, gate, water crossing, log drag, reining pattern, backing through barrels, 3 log jumps, a pavilion with Noodles hanging down, bridge and trailer load. The event is timed, but you are judged on your horsemanship. The time comes in if there is a tie. It is great practice to take them somewhere else and do these. It is funny to see the things that are boogers at one place and then not at another. And of course Savannah had a blast! First rattle out of the bag she found a mare that had a horse colt! So you can guess where she stayed. She was loving on him and feeding him grass from her hand! It was a great day and I spent it with my two favorite people and my horse!

SUNSHINE & RIDING

This afternoon me and Little Cowgirl went out to ride! It was just beautiful, sunshine! The pasture is still drying out from all the rain we had early this week. I didn't get pictures while we were riding I warmed up her horse and than rode "Preacher." He used to buck when we first got him and has not in a long time (at least 2 years) but I haven't ridden him that much with the weather the last couple of weeks and didn't want to take the chance. But he did great! He is really a sweet horse, just totally different from my mare! He is a lover, he would get into your pocket if he could. I just love each of them and there different personalities! I have a Extreme Cowboy Race tomorrow, hopefully hubby will get some pics! Have a great and blessed weekend. And in case I do not post again have a very blessed Easter!

A TREAT................

I was given a special treat today-Clinton Anderson tickets! My good friend & riding pardner (aka pardner in crime!) Mary gave them to me as a early birthday present. We went to Nacogdoches to the Expo Center for the clinic/tour. He did horse philosophy, colt starting, gaining your horse's respect on the ground and advanced riding demo. He is neat to watch and I learned some things I want to try on couple of our horses.

Oh my goodness you should have seen his rig! It was a 12 horse slant. This is me and Savannah at the back end of it, we look so little! The other picture next to it is his horse Diez and he was doing the advanced riding demo on him. He was 2 stepping, side passing, flying lead changes, spinning, etc. He was a nice looking gelding. Sorry about some of the pics, this are the better ones. The arena was covered but opened on one end and it messed with the lighting.

He also had many Clintonisms! "Two eyes are better than two heels!" AMEN to that one! "Squeeze, Cluck, Spank", and many others. I bought a catch rope (it is like a war bridle) and a shirt that says You have a compliant about my riding call 1-800-eat-my-dust! I couldn't pass that one up! And of course Savannah had to have a horse! We had a great day and learned some great things. Thanks Mary for this special treat and sharing this with me and Savannah.

One of the many reasons.................

Here is just one of the many reasons why I love this man. I tried to post these on Saturday, but blogger wouldn't upload the pics! This past Saturday he and Savannah were in the pasture riding and he was working with her on her riding and then her barrel pattern. I was trying to let them have some daddy daughter time, but couldn't stand it! I had to go out and get some pics! He is so very good with her and you can see the love he has for her. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the line of animals going around with them. Following them was "Preacher", Shelby the dog and Gader the cat. It was hysterical to see all of them coming! At one point Preacher was picking at Angel and she kicked up at him! Savannah was not scared and had to ride over and tell me all about it! I am so blessed to have such a great man! Here are two of my very favorite people who I love so very much! The weather is beautiful today and sun is shinning! Hope you all have a great and blessed day!

PLAY DAY

Yesterday after church we had our play day. The events were barrels, egg race and pony express. We always have such a great time and fellowship at the play days. Savannah did a great job and we are very proud of her. She did the barrels and egg race. She is coming right along in her riding and now has started wanting to trot! Here are a few pictures of her and "Angel" doing the events. Me and hubby love to tease each other at the play days and I just want it on record that I bet him at the barrels and egg race. amen... We did the pony express together and smoked them! Of course we had the winning score until the last team went. But the arena was alittle muddy and I held my mare back alittle. He looked at me and said "Well, if you had let her go we would have really creamed everyone!" LOL!

SHOW & TELL & SNOW

Today was Show & Tell at school. Savannah wanted to take our horse bones that we got from San Angelo. I was not sure when they were going to do it, so I tagged each bone for the teacher. Her teacher asked me to do the presentation with Savannah. The kids really enjoyed them and asked alot of questions. Which lead up to the teacher asking me to bring a couple of horses up for Texas week. The kids got really excited about that and a few asked to come home with me! Savannah was quick to respond No, she is MY momma!

Awoke this morning to snow!! Savannah was so excited I let her go outside and play alittle before we got ready for school! I knew it would quit before she would be home and didn't want her to miss out!

BRIDGE & BABIES

This week has been wet, cloud and windy! And of course that means you have babies! I have had a hen sitting for awhile and on Sunday the eggs hatched. We have 12 baby chicks. It is funny when I have a hen and babies there will be a rooster that takes up with her and stays with her from then on. It is strange, but I think you have to be alittle off to live here! Hope you enjoy the pics!!

Also about a week ago my wonderful hubby built a bridge for training purposes. He is always doing things like that for us to use with the horses. He is getting ready to build me a jump! Honey, you rock! Anyway as soon as we put the bridge out in the pasture my mare thought it was just for her. So every time we head to the barn she uses the bridge! She is a princess!!! And Savannah and Shelby really like it as well. The bridge has been a big hit at our house! Of course in the country it doesn't take much to entertain us!

I took these while we were in San Angelo on our trip. We had stopped at the water to let the horses drink, and Savannah wanted down. I knew why she was getting down, to play in the water! She was walking around the edge of the water tank and Mary told her to get down, before she fell in. It was still cool and we were about 10+ miles from the house. Well, she got down and assumed this position with my mare!!! Honestly I do not know where she gets this from! Hope everyone has a great and blessed weekend!
