I NEED TO SLOW DOWN.............
First off, I've missed you guys! Last week was crazy with school's fundraiser in the mornings, trimming goats for the show, Livestock Show Friday and Saturday and helping with a event at church on Sunday. I thought this morning I'll catch up and post pics and things. Well wrong! Go out to feed this morning and "Roo" is laying down, odd since he hardly ever lays down. He didn't eat and as soon as I turned him out he layed down. Damn, he is either colicing, tied up or impacted. Catch him, tie him up. Run to the house, wake up child, hook up truck and trailer and head to the vet~did all that in record time! He had a slight impaction, thankfully we caught it early, he oiled him and gave him some meds. We got back home late this morning and have been horse watching all day. About 3 we had our first small poop! I've never been so glad to see poop I tell ya! I can already tell he is feeling better, he will stay up tonight with only hay and water. And he said we could start him back on feed tomorrow! Thank goodness! I know I'm drained! I promise I'm going to post and pop in and visit! Hopefully tomorrow!

Scary! I'm SO glad Roo is okay. Being busy is a good thing! You have a great life! Sometimes I think I'm not busy enough...but I know things will pick up this spring and summer!
Yea Poop!
Oh wow KDW--- sure hope Roo is pooping 100% PDQ!!
Keep us posted.
Hey- we've missed you too!!! Squeeze that cowgirl from us, and drop in when you can!!
Much loves to yas!
What a morning!! I am glad Roo is okay. What a scare!!
Your church rodeo sounds like fun!! And free is always a bonus. We are just trying out this rodeo club this year. And because we have already paid our dues and all, we are going to stick it out. I do love our other club that we ride with. They are so much nicer.
Hope you get a chance to slow down and take a break!!
I know the feeling about being busy-it's spring(I think??;) and there is just so much to do and of course, with horses something always needs attention.
It's always a deep feeling of relief when you catch something early and can get it under control before it becomes serious. Roo is lucky you are observant.:)
Oh isn't that so scary when they do that...My 14 yr old gelding did that a few months back. We had the vet out 2 times and oiled him but still nothing!!! So we ended up taking him to an Equine Hospital where he stayed for 4 days before he was well enough to come home. Oh I feel for you!!! And yes I too celebrated at the sight of poop LOL!!
Excellent that you observe so well and caught it quick. I hope everything turns out good and that he starts pooping more then you care to clean up :) again.
Whew! I know the feeling! You're a good woman.
Happy to have you back too! Savannah looked like she had fun at the stock show. Is she in 4H? I bet she woudl love to raise her own. (Yes, I am a pushy ag teacher...)
Glad Roo is back to normal also.
It's just a busy spring...
Ah, nothing like poop to make the world right again!
You have been busy!!! But, that's good news for Roo...hope he's feelin' better. Yep, poop makes a horses' world go 'round...
