**Mikey I so thought of you this morning!**
Last night I went to bed around 11 pm. Would have been in there earlier, but we were watching CMT~they had Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White and Bill Engovall special. It was so good to watch and laugh! Hubby stayed up as his back was hurting. I was awoke around 1:30 am, to the hen screeching and hubby yelling something is getting the hen and chicks. I jump out of bed and run out the door. Found the hen and the chicks were spread out across the yard. We got them herded back towards mom and she started clucking. It took about 30 minutes and they were safely back to her. There were just 6, I guess whatever was after them, got 1. We looked around and didn't see anything. Hubby is thinking it was a coyote or dog. So tonight we will set a trap and see what we get. Mikey I thought of you and all your adventures you have at your place.

The coyotes have been horrible around here. Especially since Duke died...it's party at the Crazy M place! I hope you catch the perpretrator.
We used to have coyotes come running through our pasture every morning. Three of them. Our horses would just stand there. And our three donkeys would just look at them!! We had broken donkeys, they wouldn't chase dogs. Infact, the donkey's let my father in laws stupid german shephard bite their tails!! hmmmmm.....
I hope you catch the creature that got after your chickens. It could have been a racoon!! Those have been crazy around here!!
And isn't farm life wonderful!! LOL!! Many adventures, at any time of day!!
I finally gave up on raising any sort of fowl around here. I was lucky to make a couple months without loosing the entire flock.
Sorry you lost one...but glad it was only one...and hopefully you'll solve the problem soon. Don't rule out raccoons :)
Lol, awww, you thought of me as you were running half naked around the yard chasing chickens in the dark? I'm flattered!!! lmao!! I'm getting visuals of this adventure, lol.
Yep, the old "Jump and Run". The reason I sleep dressed and have a rifle locked and loaded handy. You just never know!!!
I can't wait to see what you catch. It'll be back tonight, you can bet on it. Get em girl!!!
Kris, I will be setting my blog to private, so send me an email to iluvmynonna@yahoo.com so you can still have access!
Awww poor lil' hen...sorry she lost one. Yeh, hope you get the critter that got it...not any fun getting woke up like that in the middle of the night.
Coyotes love chicken! Poor things!
